Books and cats, they go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly.
Hi! I’m Hannah and this is new to me. As I am sure many of you know, blogging is pretty popular nowadays. It’s the new source of how people receive and share their information. I decided I needed a new project. One that will expand my knowledge and give me a sense of accomplishment throughout the year(s). To be completely honest, life right now is going through a dismal period. So I needed something that was going to help give me a task to do (besides everyday chores and work).
I have many passions, as any human might have. I find excitement in video games and hiking. I am a transitioning vegan, still have to work on staying away from cheese. Already I bet some of you are thinking “Oh geez, another vegan on the planet”, but I assure you that is not what I will be focusing on, although cooking vegan food has become a huge part of what I love about the lifestyle. In the future, I intend to start horseback riding again. The outdoors are where I feel at peace. The tiny house movement has become more than just a passion and more of an obsession. A recent passion I have adopted this past year is cross-stitching, which all of the women in my family are thrilled about. Most of all, I love to read and collect books.
Like most children, my mother would read to my sister’s and me. She loves to read and has since passed that love down to me. My mom worked in our school library, so it was very easy to bring books home even if you were maxed out on the amount you were allowed to sign out. It was nice having a family member work in the library where you went to school. During the summer, my mom would bring tons of books home that were taken out of the library catalog or had to be repaired. I remember one summer, I read roughly 10 books. My mom would recommend books for me to read that she thought I would like. After I finished a book, we would have a discussion and reflect on it. My mom recently retired, but she still has a small library of her own that I can borrow from any time.
My favorite book genres are mystery and historical fiction.
This blog will be my book club, connected with people from around the world. I will be sharing the books I read and my analysis of them with my cat by my side (since he doesn’t judge and falls instantly asleep when I read to him). I invite anyone to recommend books they find interesting and full of adventure. Books are a way of expressing ones’ creativity. Being thrown into another world can be exhilarating, scary, sad, and uplifting.
There is nothing better than a cup of tea, a cat in your lap, and a good book.
